2D Gamer: Is there any reason for saying that? We have been in contact with all competition winners and all prizes are shipped or are ready to be shipped. It is true that the 1st place winner has not been in contact with us for the last 3 days and we are trying to get in touch with him to verify the shipping address and payment details but other than that unless there is any solid reason for this accusation i don't think it is correct to state it.

Further more the Pre-Order items have been canceled as the deadline for them expired. All users that ordered the -Pre-Order program have ither reclaimed their money or chose to purchase the standard product.

Virion: The console operates on Gumstix. That black screen with Text is the Default Linux boot environment. The initiator of the idea has a website dedicated to this console and firmware is being developed as described in the contest rules.

Pandora as many other consoles show and use Ready-made emulators and play games of other creators. This is what we are trying to avoid although loading up a NES emulator is pretty simple but would ruin the whole point of this contest and our console in general.

you are free to ask about it and follow it's development if you like.

A scam which goes to all the trouble of actually designing the hardware and sharing the designs under free licenses? Seriously? Do you have any evidence for your claims, or is this plain slander?

If you don't want to give them any money then take the designs and build one yourself!

The Gizmo For You website is a fake.
The competition is fake.

I have been hanging around their forum ever since I heard about GizmoForYou and it is definately real(or a very elaborate scam

). Gizmoman has been nothing but helpful to me and I really don't think he is a con artist, especially with all the knowledge he has. I think it would be easier for him to make the real thing rather than come up with a scam

I signed up and can see the schematics, both a PDF file and the kicad source. I'm no electronic engineer so I can't judge them, but they look legit to me.

This is not slander. It is a big question and there are reasons for the suspicion. You'd be wondering too. Nobody wants to do something for nothing. This has been weeks now.

Never ascribe to malice that which is adequately explained by incompetence! By all means suspect that they're stalling for time or having funding problems, call them out on it if you like, but stating that the entire project is a pre-order scam is something completely different.

I think our work speaks for it self. Talk like this gets no-one anywhere. We have been in contact with everyone involved in the competition and described the situation. There are only 2 contestants working on games since the 3rd one did not want to continue due to lack of time. Prip is being developed and we are helping out on the 3D modeling as we shall post in the latest news soon.

It's best just to apologize and close the topic. (in Ogre as well)

Have you seen it in the news press? Or in a magazine?
So what else can I think?

Gizmoman has spent a lot of time answering my dumb questions on their forum. I don't think a con artist would do that and i definately don't think a con artist would give me correct answers.

It's best just to apologize and close the topic. (in Ogre as well)

Well, there's no use in arguing about it until then. Besides as far as I understand only the first place winner hasn't recieved a prize and that's because they can't contact him. If the others have gotten their prizes then there should be no reason for anybody to think it's a scam.

I removed previous comments.
Awaiting delivery of package, we are able to track it and it has arrived in Australia already.

After arrival I'll make a video of the console and upload on youtube or google. Probably just a video showing the packaging, console, attachments etc. and bootup. Once we work out how to use it and compile stuff for it etc., we could setup an irrlicht demo to run on it or something like that.

I will be trying to make some 2d textures and objects for the game, and gui stuff while my friend who entered the competition does most the code. I think my friend pat will begin (again) updating the project page at the gizmo site this weekend, he's been run off his feet during last few weeks besides having the concerns he had recently.
Apologies if I offended anybody previously.

HELLO...

This Console still is not REAL, is it?

Please, someone prove to me that I was wrong all along.

Nothing happening with this console bullshit thingy...

Is there a single application for it?
Does it even have an operating system yet?

If you do research and find the bullshit wiki pages for developers of those gizmo's you will find a page explaining what is on the TODO list so to speak.
Things like... port Irrlicht to work with it... port OGRE to work with it... I mean what the hell is going on there? What a crock!

Anyway it's bullshit. They say they are starting to work on a 2nd version, but the first one doesn't do anything!

Someone tell me I'm wrong. I waited ONE YEAR. Please humble me.
