Post by stefbuet »

I've made the Irrlicht LOGO in 3Dsmax!

Here is a video: (see in high quality...)

Faces : about 700.
Formats : max, obj, x, 3ds

not to judge, but this could be made as a cube of 12 tris with parallax mapping :)
irrRenderer 1.0
Height2Normal v. 2.1 - convert height maps to normal maps

Step back! I have a void pointer, and I'm not afraid to use it!

looks nice !!! :)

but yeah, 1600 faces is pretty much for such a mesh, I think...
even without parallax mapping it should be only a few 100s... ;)

It's because of the letters which are exctruded (even the sentence at the bottom) but I guess it could be more low poly yes :)
If I can't solve my MRT problem( advanced help ) I'll be forced to wait answers and then I'll do a parralax mapped & low poly version :p
But I'm not an artist

You used the old one from the website =P The one on the Wiki is much nicer http://www.irrlicht3d.org/images/irrlicht_new_logo.png other than that, pretty nice!

And like the others said, quite a few polys on there!

I've changed it : changed the "lightning 3D..." thing from 3D to 2D with the texture as it wasn't extruded a lot and 3D wasn't so much seen. This time I didn't forget the "3D" word. I optimized a little letters of Irrlicht and final result is 700 polys about.
Now direct x and 3ds formats are available, obj was already in the archive.
I'll probably do a parralax mapped version.

Made these two yesterday, but i was not sure whether to release them, because it's not that nice. Anyways, here they are, maybe someone will find them useful. I'm not sure if the normal map is correct, it was generated in gimp

Anyone know if there is a svg version of the newer Irrlicht logo out there? It would definitely make ent1ty's logo less pixely.
