I'm trying to find a way to export models I've made in Maya to a .x format. It is Important that skeletal animation be preserved. I've used cvxporter, but it doesn't seem to export the animation, and doesn't always work reliably.
I'd rather not spend hundreds of dollars, so I'd prefer something inexpensive or free-ware.
I expect that this is a problem lots of people encounter, and I'd love to know how you guys solved the problem. Thanks in advance for your response.

I'm pretty new to this whole 3d modeling thing, but I'm trying to help out a friend who wants to make a game using irrlicht by giving him some models.
What do I have to do so that the models I make can be used with irrlicht, and have their corresponding animations?
It seemed that .X is the solution, but I need to know a good way to change my models from Maya into a .X format.

Probably because there are not that many people using Maya and the forum members are mostly programmers. Most of the guys are using some free modelling tools. But .X is not your only option. I`m using Max 9 and the Blitz3d format exported by B3d Pipeline. Try searching for some plugins for Maya. If your models are not animated you can use another format as well. BTW here`s a list of the model formats Irrlicht supports (in case you don`t know them already) http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/feature ... tedformats .thatguy wrote:no responses yet...
