My Action-RPG engine... (Major WIP)

Post by Alonguy »

Hello, I'm Jason, an 18-year-old C++ programmer/gamer.
I've been working on an engine for an action-RPG idea I've had for a while... and just recently, I made a new version using Newton physics engine. To test it, I used levels from Zelda TP. Then I made a video about it -

This engine is mostly practice. I'm doing it for personal experience, and would like to know what people think. (About the engine and how well I'm doing with it.)

EDIT: For reference, here's a video I made about a week or two after starting with Irrlicht -

And Alonguy 5 (Which used Irrlicht's built-in collision) -

That's pretty cool, nice big world you have there..

The guys walk animation needs some improvement though... looks like he is gliding along, guess he needs to bob up and down or something.

Also, smooth transitions between animations.

And maybe not instant turning when you change direction...

Thanks, I was planning on fixing the animation up, but never got around to it.
And, the transitions would take a little work, but it's doable.
