In case someone is looking for a "full blown" game engine with a complete
toolchain - jMonkey (Java). Maybe only good for prototyping, but at least
for learning very interesting.

I'll keep that in mind, but the last time I tried to make a game with Java, it couldn't handle the load. ... (okay, so maybe generating 300 bullets at a single moment wasn't such a great idea... XD)

In case you are interested, I've used jMonkey in the past and found it pretty nice to work with. I don't think you are going to make the next Crysis with it, but it is a capable engine.
