Did you ever wonder how sh*t happens?

The Plan

In the beginning was the plan.
And then came the Assumptions.
And the Assumptions were without form.
And the Plan was without substance.
And darkness was upon the face of the Workers.
And they spoke among themselves, saying,
"It is a crock of sh*t, and it stinketh."
And the Workers went unto their Supervisors and said,
"It is a pail of dung, and none may abide the odor thereof."
And the Supervisors went unto their Managers, saying,
"It is a container of excrement, and it is very strong,
such that none may abide by it."
And the Managers went unto their Directors, saying,
"It is a vessel of fertilizer, and none may abide its strength."
And the Directors spoke amongst themselves, saying one to another,
"It contains that which aids plant growth, and it is very strong."
And the Directors then went unto the Vice-Presidents, saying unto them,
"It promotes growth, and it is very powerful."
And the Vice-Presidents went unto the President, saying unto him,
"This new plan will actively promote the growth and vigor
of the company, with powerful effects."
And the President Looked upon the Plan, and saw that it was good.
And the Plan became Policy.

This is how Sh*t Happens

Oh my, I must certainly go there some day :P
On another note that's why I never plan, because plans always turn to poop :P

Dear friends, what a great gift we got today! Cisco releases their H.264 codec on the BSD license! Mozilla already said they will implement their codec soon!

Message: you may use their binary blob to avoid H.264 patent fees.
Result: You download a binary blob from Cisco that does god knows what, and has god knows whose backdoors preinstalled.

I don't believe for things like (intentional) backdoors from companies like Cisco, and especially in this case. Sooner or later somebody would find this, and that would ruin Cisco reputation immediately.

The other thing are bugs which could be used in evil way :-)

Why binary blob? They wrote: "We plan to open-source our H.264 codec, and to provide it as a binary module that can be downloaded for free from the Internet.". I mean Irrlicht.dll also is a binary blob, but as long as it comes with sources that allow recompiling it I don't see the problem. And the BSD license they want to use is very close to our zlib license.

Ah - checking the comments there I start to get it. You only get it license-free when using the binary blob because they can't cover the license fees otherwise. **** the ******* software patents.
