Awesome! I need to thank you so much for all your help. I have determined that the game will be online only such that I don't have to deal with AI programming and stuff like that. The gameplay will be a combination of Counter-Strike and Quake i'm hoping, where its fast nonstop gameplay, but you can't respawn for a certain amount of time. Alright, i gotta go study for a test myself. Thanks again!

Sorry for double post.

Now that thats out of the way, there is a new demo up at www.stephen.eckenrode.com/CentaurForce2.zip just make sure to put the Irrlicht.dll included into the folder. (it unzips to one folder below the Centaur Force directory. ex. if you unzip to My Documents, the dll will be in there, just move it the Centaur Force.) I've implemented shooting, and changed the lighting, and it's pretty cool. To get into the demo, just click demo from the menu. w-a-s-d moves, and left mouse shoots. Have fun, suggestions are welcome. [btw, i need to increase ambient, its still a little dark! ]

Hey, just a few things, first how are the models coming? I'm looking to implement the weapons system next week, and I would like to see at least one model. Also, saigumi, i noticed that the Centaur Force link isn't on the www.eve-corp.com front page. Thanks

well this is the first time i got on the internet in over a week i had a problem with my cable modem and with christmas i have been busy
i got all of the main parts of the ak done but i think i still need to add some detail to it. after i am done with that all i have to do is uv map and texture and that will only take about five or six hours so i can probably have it done in a day or two
i am thinking of doing a handgun next as thst will give it more of a balace of weapons
i may even have it done by tomorrow but it may take me some time to get it uploaded, but it will definitely be done by next week

I took a delve into some attempts at modeling this week, and the results are pretty promising. I need to work a bit on texturing, but i got a shotgun and m16a2 model done. screen of the m16 is here. Also another question, I'm trying to implement player models right now, and i can't seem to figure out how. I can get the model to show, and thats fine, but I want to be able to use their hands for onscreen display. (holding a weapon, i want to have different hands depending on your model, would i just have the hands such that they show in front of the camera, or is there another way that i'm missing here. Thanks in advance.

P.S. whenever the models are done, beam them to me @ seckenrode@.nospam.thehill.org (of course remove the nospam)

i think that md3 models with the tags will work for having the models hold weapons

Ok, that seems good. Alright then. I have six different weapon models, and i would like to see whether anyone is willing to texture and uv map them for me. Since i decided to release the game as shareware, everyone who helps will receive a complementary licence. Thanks in advance.
