Water and Bump Mapping

Post by firefly2442 »

I was just curious about the fact that bump mapping will hopefully be in the next release. Would it be possible to include bump mapping on the water so you could get a cool water effect?

There are a few way to do bumpmapping, you can use an environment map ( texture ) or you can use normal mapping. Niko has implemented the Normal mapping method for bumpmapping.

sweet...

when this poor artist did read "bump", unerstood the mited 3d art bump texture of ye old good times...

normal maps, then.

huh...maybe a workaround for no lod , is to use low pol tree tri¡unks with normal map applied...yet the loww will be to high for a forest..

is this normal map (there are different types) of the type one can use for animated characters ? (alla doom3)

or is just for walls, etc?
