arbaro got uv export in OBJ!!! go grab 1.9.4

Post by vermeer »

that is.

maybe you need some uv move or scale(mainly to adjust to ur particular leave and bark texture!), as i like really polish my uvs, but is very good to go!

As I mentioned, requires several afternoons playing with its settings, but now I'm able to output mid or hi pol trees...As I mentioned, lower than 2k or 1k tris trees...u'd better model those by hand, the billboards and a basic trunk or use tree magik...but arbaron can even be used to generate uber nice trees to smash em (renders) in billboards, with 4 camera renders.

forgot to mention it runs great on Linux! and the exported obj files load ok in blender!! (you just gotta rotate them 90 degrees)

yup, I forgot to mention...java is platform independent.... ;)

remember u can curv trunk and branches , changes the radius....u need to look at the scanned drawing explanations with every setting, plus, down at left corner, a blue link word, it gives a short description and if u click, a small pop up will appear to tell u in depth what that setting does , and which values...it's contextual, depending on the tree setting u are, t offers accurate help of that setting...

is THE way, to achieve whatever the tree u want in arbaro, being relatively easy produce any type , curving, etc.

no, Alvaro did not get uv obj export...that must hurt ;)

...and I still have an strong suspect that u don't have the pop up window setting on irrlicht forum to tell u about the arrival of a new PM message...

;)

@vermer, how can get render to texture with this tool? It's says that all is ok and make some calculations, but not create any png file.

nope....u just export the obj. uv mapping is done automatically.you need then to apply some textures, usually a leaf texture with alpha chanel of the bacground, and a bark texture.making it over the uv bitmap template (like a printscreen) layer in a 2d package, that leave matches leaf uvs (all coincident in one leaf uv shape) with leave texture, and bark with its uvs. ideally, have some opengl to check the changes, someone made a project for that, recently.

once u have ur obj with textures applied (lithunwrap is nice for this, but is doable with Blender uv window, too.) you save obj , leaving mtl and textures in same folder, and load in a renderer, like Blender if familiar to it, or Anim8or 0.9, that is really easy.

you'll surely want to make the camera rotate and change positions to make ur four planes billboards. And mix with trunk real geometry, leaving on it the bark texture.

imho.
