NO TIPS PLEASE!

Post by Fraza »

I cant stress it enough that I don't want anyone spoiling the task I have in mind by giving me tips! I just would like to know information about Infrared vision, some particulars are:

Can you use it to look through a wall?
What kind of range can you use Infrared to look at?

Any info would be useful :D

Information straying from these points but on the subject of Infrared and possibley other forms of nightvision would also be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance :D

Infrared cams seem to have a deeper penetration than standard NV goggles. I tried a police grade one in the past. That kind of stuff is impressive.

Something as thick as a wall is too much for them, but they can go through wet bathsuits 8)

vision works with electric impulses generated by light waves impinging on your retina..

thermal vision works the same way... except it is the heat that generates the electrical impulse...

as opaque objects block light... thermal radiation can be blocked by insulators... hence thicker objects can not be penetrated.. other wise it is like hearing sound waves...

better/thicker the insulator, more muffled what you hear is...

:) A TIP : watch the movies "Pitch Black" and "Predator" and you get the idea... also try Daredevil... but do not rent it... waste of money .. hee hee

hope that helps...

Thankyou! That link is very useful!

When I get a little closer to the time (putting final touches on lightmaps and nightvision at the moment) I will read that much more thoroughly!

Edit: whilst reading the link 2 other replies appeared! I think all the info I need is in the link. I may, if feeling very ambitious, at some point make an attempt at this 'muffled' effect, but I doubt it.
