InstallShield Express missed out in Wiki?

Post by Fraza »

I looked at the irrlicht Wiki (very good by the way!) and when I went over to the install programs section, there was no mention of InstaalShield express! Is there a reason to not use it or something?

It was included with my XP Pro installation, was it inclued with everyone else also?

I think Fraza means it's not included among the tools available for Irrlicht; in case you need an instlaeer for your app.

I prefer Installer2go or setup2go; they're free and very easy to use.

my experience with InstallShield was a bit frustrating.

Lol! I did mean that there is no mention of using installshield to create the installer for your final program. If you use the wizards it's very easy, and if you get the gist of it then you can easily make an installation that looks (and i guess is) very professional.

I think InstallShield Express is commercial. There is a trial version though. AFAIK it is normally not included in XP Pro (in mine it's not (not that I knew)).

There is also a bunch of other install tools:

http://www.thefreecountry.com/programming/setup.shtml

or

http://www.advancedinstaller.com/

etc.
It is like it is. And because it is like it is, things are like they are.

Or

Looks very clean to me (used by Winamp etc).

You know the one big thing you forgot?

You forgot to add it! http://irrforge.org/index.php?title=Ins ... ction=edit

A wiki is only as good as what people put in.
Crud, how do I do this again?
