There is a open source windows called reactos that's been in development for a long time. If there is anyone interested in looking at it and getting features on it to work go here to get it and for more info http://www.reactos.com this can be a good open source operating system in the future they plan on makeing there own version of directx for it with the help of wine (linux windows program runner) http://www.winehq.com/
