yup, it's finally an official release. free for non-commercial use. Great engine BTW.

Kjapi officially released!
It's a nice OOP style Engine... The only thing which is not so good is that it often takes several months till they release a new version. Let's hope that they will speed up development now.
R2D2's Irrlicht Mods

Nice Engine.
But I would realy like more an IrrNature
Irrlicht has TerrainSceneNode.
Well we need:
-I very good space partitioning(PVS,bla bla bla.)
-fast rendering for trees(with LOD)
-grass with LOD
-my new water (with LOD)
-new water that simulater waves created by wind(with LOD)
-LOD for every mesh(SceneNode)
What the hell we need LOD and nothing more
Fast culling.....

I have been in the kjAPI beta testing program since the very early stages, and I have to say it's a very wonderful engine. It's great to hear that someone has lisenced the engine for a commercial project, as now they have more insentive to release updates to the engine and it's tools. But, I am still hooked with Irrlicht as it's open source, and thus I can release and sell projects without having to pay a fee
parallax mapping = offset bumpmapping i would like better support for bumpmaps in general... for now only models can use them! have you ever tried to bumpmap a model with several tiling textures like a complete level? i think its not possible right nowafecelis wrote:Irrlicht does bump mapping and 0.10 will do parallax mapping!
and what we need most: better linux support! (only a question: why is the water non-transparent in linux and why do the waves move only every sec instead of every frame?)
