You might check out the few programs listed in the irrlicht wiki.

I talk about programmes which can be used for doing animations.

And I think all programmes which can be used for this are complicated because it is a very complex theme. I don't think anybody will be able to use them without spending a lot of time in learning how to handle them. This sentence should tell you that I don't think there is a programm you can use for the things you want to do witch is so easy that you just turn it on and are able to handle it. So I want to tell you: try to get in one of the programmes, if you manage one (e.g. Blender, I use it, it is nice) you can learn the others even faster, so try it. Don't look at it say: "It's complicated" and turn away.

 if you think midnight is right about me I say that you are ... (my dictionary don't know the word, I'm sorry ;) )

Blender is the best option if don't have an expensive package.

Character Fx is pretty straight forward and simple, but less powerful than blender for character animation.

Blender is complex.
But the best option unless you have purchased Max, XSI, Maya....

Character animation is complex. :)
Finally making games again!

Blender's too complicated, does anyone have a link to a good complete tutorial about it?

Milkshape may seem complicated at first, but if you walk through several of its tutorials, you'd be surprised what you can do with it. The way you go about creating models is unlike any other modelling package I've seen, but I find it to be intuitive once you get used to it.

I think everybody has a program they like best. I like Anim8tor and Character FX myself for example. You just have to try them one by one til you find one that fits your style.

I have characterFX and Fragmotion.
Fragmotion seems more powerful.
