What? I just downloaded the iso with no problem! You just got to register on their database.
Simply follow the "ReBirth CD-ROM Image" link and then "Register for access"
and that's it!
The iso you download is exactly the commercial version. And their license agreement says you can use it commercially (the songs you create); the only thing you're not allowed to do is re-selling the software.
the link they give you is a torrent file so the download is pretty fast!
search my dear, search!

As of September 1, 2005, Propellerhead Software officially terminated development of ReBirth RB-338. This date also marks the end of technical support for ReBirth. That's right, ReBirth is an unsupported product. Propellerhead does however offer this collection of FAQs which should help sort out most of the common problems.
Still, please bear in mind that the documents are old, very outdated in places, and occasionally cheeky - but we must consider that there's been a lot of water under the bridges. It's been said that in the computer world, evolution moves at ten times the normal speed, which would make the latest version of ReBirth about 70 "computer years" old... and so it is with parts of this FAQ archive. We have left the older support answers intact because users might want to dust off old computers running Windows 95/98, NT or Mac OS8/9 and put them to use as dedicated ReBirth hosts.
If you still find yourself stuck, you can always turn to the ReBirth Museum Message Board where knowledgeable users may be able to assist you.
funny duhduh, was already taken as a username, had to use duhduhduh
anyways, i hate bitTorrent, shame it's only available with a torrent, won't download
EDIT: I should clarify, I won't download bitTorrent and won't use it. I've had nothing but nitemares with bitTorrent, spyware installed on system, bitTorrent bring my internet connection to a halt, even when I'm not downloading files. Don't trust it, with as fast as the internet is, just make a damn file for download, bandwidth is so cheap now, torrent is useless, IMO.

Sorry to hear that Spintz; my experience with Torrent has been the opposite, it's been safe, clean, fast and without spyware. I guess it was the torrent client you were using; I had problems once with azureus, but now I use bittornado without problems. Bittornado may not be as pretty and spiffy as azureus but it does its job as it's supposed to (and it also works in linux!).
Give it a try, I'm almost sure your problems were due to the torrent client you used; or perhaps you installed one of those torrent search engine programs (those are a big no-no!). If you want to search for torrents just use the torrent web pages.
I recommend bittornado:

I use azureus 2.3.0.4 and it used to do as you say and mess up the bandwidth but it hasn't been like that in almost a year or two now.
Bit torrent is awesome sure the speeds can be weak sometimes and like all software some use it for things like spy marketing and there is even the occasional virus from some hacker bastard.
but if you know which sites to use and you know not to download torrents from just anyone then you're perfectly safe....
In reality people are more of a threat to themselves due to ignorance then any outside force would normally do.
not that I'm implying anything spintz I would have to know something about your situation to pass any sort of judgement on it naturally if I were into that sort of thing.
you guys should give utorrent a try; the smallest dl I've seen (like 96 kb) and almost 0% use of your proc; and it's got a nice, acceptable GUI and even a search engine; oh yes, and no f..n spyware.
http://www.utorrent.com/
I switched to it since last time Bittornado was using 96% of my resources after some time of starting a DL.

Does this mean that the app is 16-bit?
No wonder it's free. Who in this day and age would install a 16-bit app on their machine???[/quote]
Note: The following error-message may occur during installation on the Windows platform: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT.The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Windows applications.
more like the installer is 16-bit (a lot of installers are still 16-bit, actually). the app itself i believe is 32-bit.Anonymous wrote:Does this mean that the app is 16-bit?
