FoxyChick Vs. Mr. Grey - a webcomic made in Irrlicht

Post by mohaps »

Hi all,

I am making a webcomic using irrlicht and gimp and free md2 models.. it is called "FoxyChick Vs. Mr. Grey"

I created a tool called posemaker using irrlicht that allows you to pose md2 models with or without weapons against a "green screen" and take screenshots....

The lettering was done in GIMP

some WIP shots :

Don't listen to the naysayers mohaps. That's great.
If it exists in the real world, it can be created in 3d

Sys specs:
AMD 3700+ 64 processor
1.0 gb ram
e-Geforce 6600 graphics 256 mb onboard ram

Green screen, hmm... What about a toon shader to save you the trouble of hand manipulating the images? If you stacked textured quads with transparency, put an ortho camera looking down, you'd have an Irrlicht/Disney animation stand!

Depth of field next.....

I've been working on something similar at http://inkulator.sourceforge.net however, mine isn't realtime rendering. I tried to cut down the amount of GIMP post processing. Always lazy.

Green screen, that's why I love this forum, who would have thought of it!

It was alright. It kind of cool how you used irrlicht for something I probably wouldnt have thought of as a use.

hee hee... the comic strip is absolute crap..i agree... just for testing... I think i can just write the image processing shaders / buffe rmanipulators myself...

i am actually trying to create a POSER like tool for comic strip creation...

i might add support for other model formats ... off screen rendering etc.

dhenton,

i shall take a look at inkulator.. actually if you nee dhelp on the pproject i can do what i can...
