request for later version

i have a request

maybe a smoother FPS camera, and smooth 3rd person view camera....

just a thought...

you know what else would be great...

this is just out of the blue,

but if someone had enough time, and enough programming expierence, to make a blender 3d style game maker studio... Maybe distribute it with GNU compiler, that would great... just wishful thinkin i suppose... heh.. but I mean, a builtin physics engine would be fantastic, make it easier... because for me using newton with irrlicht for me is just crazy difficult...

you do realize that blender has a game engine built in? I have no idea how good it is though
You do a lot of programming? Really? I try to get some in, but the debugging keeps me pretty busy.

What do you mean with smoother?

You can't do fast multiplayer games in blender, besides I want to use raknet, and I like doing all the coding myself... Gives me a since of completion. Except the engines, leave that up to the proffesionals. by smooth, I mean smoother, And I know that blender has a game engine, but It's not up to par with other game engines. anyways I'm not a python expert. just a good builtin physics engine for irrlicht would probably solve all my problems, and if it was easer, like scene nodes. say you could create a scenemanager for a physics manager, like you create the scene, add the octscenenode or load the BSP and then apply a physics node to it as the world, and so on and so on. poop like that. just a thought.

;)

My question is, why should Niko worry abouts making a camera system smoother or more advanced if, for the most part, it is just going to be rewriten on a per-project basis as to suit the project fully. In my opinion if your looking for a smoother first or third person camera, write it yourself; as the next version of Irrlicht is some time off, and you'll be able to customize it to your project better.

You need to elaborate on that, because right now it reads like someone throwing around the word moron despite not being able to tell the pretty significant difference between a 3d engine and a game engine and even claiming that it's the same thing. But I guess the "what is Irrlicht" part stating that it is NOT a game engine should have given away the difference. So please tell me this isn't yet another sad case of clueless person generously dealing out insults.

unfortunately - without a login, we cannot really tell the difference between you & the other guy.

Much as I hate to say it - GFXStyler has a point here... Guest posts are just making this confusing.
