Once again: X-Files in IRR

Post by Orkze »

Hey

How many hours you have to anger yourself und try, till x files work correctly? ;)

Well i got it work but now there's another problem in the engine:
When I import my x-files (exported from Maya7, converted in MViewer) the model, or at least the skin weights are destroyed (not completely, but they do strange things).
So the hands are moving in very funny ways, the head streches a.s.o.
But in DX and Mesh Viewer everythings fine.

any ideas?

ps: yes i have animations and the model is seperated in extra files (arms, head, torso, legs), because we want to replace those pieces of armor.

separated pieces leads to probs, usually.(try doing single piece, there was the old trick of deleting the human and exporting with just remaining weapon, , also again load master file, delete the weapon, export. then load both anims togehter in engine.they match.dunno if possible with x )

that kind of error is sometimes right handed or left handed setting in the export dialogs of the 3d art packages...

I'd test both things if I were u, to spot what's happening
Finally making games again!
