Welcome back (although yu probably left before I came to Irrlicht  ). Your loader has been adapted for the latest Irrlicht version in one of my patches, so it should sill work as good as before. There had been some problems with texture loading, though, when I loaded an example.
Maybe you're a good choice for the job of implementing the md5 loader?

old members are returning and new members are arriving... :?
what could this mean?

afecelis, who is part of, as you said in another post 'the original family' here on the irrlicht forums & all?
Darn, I knew I should have when I first came upon it, v. 0.12, I think? I might have known some of the original people...
But at that time I was trying to make some sense of Crystal Sapce, and eventually failed. :(

And ah, Welcome back, though, I am sure i never knew you... heh Only statred Irrlicht a few weeks ago...

maybe I was here before 0.4...0.2 ... ?

probably

I don't remember...

i was attracted for license, an8 format back in the old days, besides probably md2

murphy's viewer was based in 0.7 and I had been already a loooong time here. bugged a lot poor niko with x format... :D
(but 100x100 sure I wasn't the one to influence on that matter)

I think...I...remember...sending you an md3 so to test the md3 stuff, specially to test if non chunked(single piece) md3 worked...can't remember. getting old.
Maybe you're a good choice for the job of implementing the md5 loader?
that's the format of the future for anims, (I had to say it)
Works sweeeet with blender.
Finally making games again!

the original family
It's always the original family. I didn't mean to exclude anyone. Everyone in this community is very valuable. But there once was a time were we had a lot of "regulars" posting frequently, sharing and adding projects that helped Irrlicht become what it is today.
GfxStyler even created a wallpaper about it:

Really cool wallpaper....
Why didn't I go with irrlicht when I first came upon it?
But now I know that I will probably stay here for a looong time.
The people here are really responsive, unlike in other forums, not including the Blender ones.... When I made my first post, seriously a very stupid question, before RustyNail, as KitchenKnif, I expected to be flamed to death, as I have been in other places...

:D But I wasn't! :D

Md5 is much less problematic than x, imo.
Not meaning to replace x : I love *.x, and many projects are now based on it. But adding an md5 loader would be great for the engine.

the format spec is here:
http://www.doom3world.org/phpbb2/viewto ... 26ba870c08

-but looks like there's valuable info in all those pages thread... -

Indeed, I think would surely put an end to so much posts like these...

http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=13437

http://irrlicht.sourceforge.net/phpBB2/ ... hp?t=13517

...Or almost. As the prob here is, any bones and weights formats is *way* more complex than a simple static object. So, probs arise in anywhere of the pipeline.
Finally making games again!
