How about a Comparison Irrlicht<-->Crysis Engine ..? (no joke!)
...and I ONLY mean the (Graphic-)Rendering Capabilities (not physics & co.)!
Would also be to nice have a statement from Niko, how many (and what kind of) still missing features of a leading-edge (render!)-engine will be incorporated in future Irrlicht versions...
Don't get me wrong, but we choose Irrlicht to build our Game upon and we don't want to change to another engine... - I think it's only(!) a matter of time and for now we have a lot of time, cause we have to build up our Game-Engine and Game-Framework... - so it's not a problem to wait while Irrlicht matures...

well the biggest thing is that CryEngine2 is a fully DirectX 10 engine. I just installed the latest DX9 SDK on my notebook, and theres previews for a number of the DirectX 10 features. theres a LOT of new stuff, which allows for so much detail
if we had those DX10 features in Irrlicht than we could do it fine. heck, anything out there currently (HL2, DOOM3, so on and so forth) could be done in Irrlicht as well. we just dont have anyone in the community that's that good with modeling and stuff
