They mention Irrlicht and they even don't allow commercial use of the software. Maybe they'll even contribute a new driver to the Irrlicht core. Anyway there are also others working on PSP drivers, so maybe Irrlicht will get one sooner or later.

Hello,

i would like to reply to this topic.,

yes irr has been changed to engine, but porting this engine was a very hard work, we had to work and rewrite a lot (most of them) of classes, it's a wonderful engine but how do you think it works in 24mb of ram if a player mesh takes 4mb?

Irrlicht is mentioned everywhere, in the source, in the site, it's obvious that most of the acknowledgments goes to the irrlicht community but let us take ours :)

It's free also for commercial purposes just let me know, i would like to know if they use it ^^.

Ok this is all, thanks to all the irrlicht community.

This is a good advert for Irrlicht, it can only mean more users in the long run. credit is given, and the freedom of the license says they can sell it if they want to. of course everyone would prefer it if it were free, but if they were always going to port an engine to sell it might as well be Irrlicht
Also, siberianstar posted code for of memory saving changes for md2 meshes, they probably won't make it into irrlicht without a tidy up though, but still worth looking in to

Sorry, I don't quite understand what's going on.

What is the difference of this engine and irrlicht ?
(Just remove 'irr' and become another new engine???)
It seems they are the same!

???
Hopes everyone here all success!!!

No, there's new driver for the PSP implemented, based on the OpenGL implementation available for the PSP. Maybe there are also some optimizations applied (which I'd really like to know of, HINT! )

I discovered that engine a week ago and was wondering why they did it this way. It would have been nice if they would have told us somehow about that engine. I mean it's absolutely ok with the license what they did, but it's always interesting to know where irrlicht is being used, especially if it is something like that. Irrlicht running on the PSP, nice. :)

Hehe, using a simple search-and-replace with Irr and Irrlicht to engine makes rather strange docu  But these changes will make updating to the latest Irrlicht code rather a hard manual job. However I hope they'll open their sources soon to keep bugfixing synchronized.

so if i made a game using the irrlicht engine and put a direct port using the psp engine one but changed a few codes, it be that simple or you had to rewrite the whole thing
