Realsoft3d 4.2 (previous version) free

Post by afecelis »

Hey guys,

Surfing the blenderartists forums I ran into this link:
http://www.urob.de/index.php?para=107

There you can download and on the second link ask for a serial to install it as full version. Although the info is in German, I'm sure you'll be able to get a registration code easily. If having trbl, use an online traslation service like:
http://world.altavista.com

Realsoft3d is a powerful 3d app with good rendering capabilities. It's a good tool to have in one's pocket. Similar to Truespace's policy of releasing older versions for free, Realsoft3d offers us a version behind the latest one.
Info on the program here:

yup, I've also always seen this proggie as a great alternative for doing 3d stuff in Linux. Maybe the serial works for the linux install as well ... It would be just a matter of grabbing the Linux version somewhere.

at a first glance, this thing seem to rock...I don't think it reaches xsi latest (this freebie seems old), but freaking cool to have it for free...

any especific comment or review on it? Or screenshots? what did and didn't you like?

I didn't like the fact of having to render with its separate renderer (or can you render directly from the app?).

well...a vague impression. Not that I say is bad. Reason why i said "I'll stick with..."

meaning me personally ;)

Dunno, a bit of non direct UI, lacking some features (while has a load of others...) I don't know, maybe Blender and XSI latest are just way more advanced, for after all thi sfree thing being given seems quite old...

Looks like have many mdoelling features, which i'd love to have in wings but...more direct...Indeedy, am no interested in new modelers, more in new lightmappers...And couldn't find a way to lightmap in it, neither any word result in the manual... Crossing xsi, giles, ultimate unwrap ,blender and wings I have a hard time to think on something i actually need....that's why i said "personally"....

Didnt like the first impression of the ui, but yep, that wont make justice. If you spent time on it, sure you end up doing wonders.
