Wii Remote for Irrlicht

Post by anoki »

The Wii Remote now works for PCs. Some nice people wrote some software
for it.
Maybe one of the advanced coders can find out a way to connect the
Wii Remote to Irrlicht.
Maybe it is also possible with just scripting.
I buy a Wii Remote the next days, maybe it works.

Would be a great start for the next year to navigate Irrlicht with the Wiimotes.
A new virtual experience.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year

Finally i got the right bluetooth usb stick.

Now everything is running perfect.
It is really great to navigate irrlicht with the Wiimote. Big fun.

If you want to try the Wii Mote with Irrlicht you should get
a bluetooth usb stick that has the Bluesoleil Software included.

Here is a good discription how it works.

Cool, do you use the mouse script? I guess that could be enhanced with an adapted script?

which bluetooth adapter did you get? im using a Targus USB one to control my Wiimote ( i dont have a Wii tho >_> <_< ), been nice except it doesnt have Vista x64 drivers yet

i bought a wiimote with the idea of using it like this, and actually using the six degrees from the accelerometers for like map editing/positioning. (move your hand up it moves the object, move it forward it moves forward, twist it around and it rotates until you get it in the exact position you want). havent had time to do anything with it tho

At the moment i use the wiimouse script and an aquip USB adapter.
I am running Win XP and Glovepie 0.29.
The most important is that the bluesoleil software is included in your
USB package. If you have bluesoleil the wiimote works very well.

I changed the wiimouse script a little bit. I post the change here later.
It is just a little adjustment.
