Irrlicht 1.7 has a water scene node component and I'm not knocking your work but just by playing with contrast on the texture(darkening and enriching) you can create a non-shader version of this that works on all renderers and looks better, also an advantage to that way of doing things is you can calculate which texture to use by roughly calculating the volume of water and you can also change the waters animation from calm and lake like to rough and choppy like the ocean, just my two cents from a time spent to effect gained perspective

Dude, this is like the 20th topic I've seen today that you'd resurrected :shock: from the dead. It was started in 2006 and last posted in 2008. Try to avoid bringing back dead topics.
