sunspots what are you talking about?

ah i just got it lol bu the anoying thing is that they go away when you get to close to the surface so they are clearly a glitch

Yep. That Great Wall of China / long mountain range is a bit too long, but it beats my planets by a long shot.

(I have "texturing & modeling, procedural approach" in the reading queue - who knows when I'll get to it though. Hopefully reading the book on noise will help in prettifying planets ;))

ya for now mountains are a bit over represented but that's caused by the underlying continental plate simulation i have hopefully it's get fixed when ill pass other parameters then seed to the the heightmap generator

Now the only feature you need is cloud cover. XD Just kidding. It looks awesome as it is.
I wouldn't say the mountains are over represented; I'd say they look stringy. Mountain ranges are generally clumped, at least in my experience.

well if you get closer they look quite diferent

well on the north american continent there is a such mountain range that follows the plate line but the problem is that mine stand out just a little to much

I just got my procedural galaxy generator to a usable state today

this is locked with only the first 3 levels of the octree so only classes OBA classes stars are generated otherwise nothing would have stoped my game from slowing down to a crawl when rendering 400 billion nodes

each picture should contain about 10-50 000 stars they are rendered over sized to demonstrate the shape of the galaxy

and this is what a typical star sky would look like in my galaxy right now (ofc nebulae and other things are not yet implemented)

@Granyte, have you seen SpaceEngine already? Seems a lot like what you are trying to achieve.
Great work by the way!

Ever wondered what the sky would look like with 2 stars?

This is a shot from an O class star from my improved star surface shader wich is not based on the color that a material glow if it's heated at a certain temperature

buisness as usual more stuf this way

It will come in the form of a space combat simulator within next year as i think it will retain people atention more if youc an blast things out of the sky.

and because mine is not seamless (even if it will hide loadings in the final version) and cannot (yet) load data from star catalogue it would not stand the comparaison with other engine in the same class like celesta or space engine
