@kiddinu: Consider using open source software such as code::blocks, you won't have to bother with M$ compilers anymore. It's probably better suited for teaching purposes anyways, since students can use the tools for free.
@cypher: Maybe check out Jirr, will decrease the chances for memory leaks

Jirr? Ugh... I hate Java even more than C++. I don't have anything against the Jirr project... I just don't like the language that it's bound to. :P

I started programming at age 14 with c# with the eqemulator team developing tools to help aid the customization of the servers. Learned html and php right after that to build websites for the stuff i was programming and for the server i ran for 2 years. Just finished learning the blitz languuage about 6 months ago(that language is freaking weird) and now im working on C++, im using the Irrlicht engine for a MMO commercial game.

http://www.shadowedlands.net - most of the work i did is on there, but without the C# programs and C++. This site is a portal that ive been tweaking for the past year to use for the MMO. The site is for the mmo using the Blitz programming information soon to be converted to Illicht

I started HTML (not really programming) when i was 11, in 1 or 2 years time you will find babies programming before they can even talk.
