Since this has kinda become the main thread for our "little" project, I might as well post this little video here. The video show this this little software I wrote to handle the input analasis from the webcam:

It's a version 0.0.1 still so don't draw too many conclusions yet.
I made it in java so with a little luck we can make this thing crossplatform :D

As the project progresses it seems that the material is slowly gathering. With a little luck either I or probably ElementoY will have a prototype up in a short while.

Not to burst anyones bubble, but touch screen technology isn't difficult nor new, the processor speed is the only limitation we have ever had. It is easy to turn any monitor, though flat panel is best, into a touch screen if you understand the concepts, which I know of three techniques (light, pressure, and heat to oversimplify them).

if you watch the video, you'll see why this one is so different. yes, toouchscreen isnt new or diffucult, but this isnt any ordinary touchscreen. in general, touchscreens only register one input, if you touch in more than one place it'll take the average of those positions as the input it sends. the touchscreen in that video records more than one input location... a lot more. that is something that neither current widespread touchscreen technology or software can do, it would have to be designed and programmed from the ground up to accept any number of positions and outputs

This is no way intended to be an insult, so please don't take it as such because only a few people will probably know what I am talking about. I saw the video by the way. Touch Screen registers for some stores have had the technology of tracking multiple touches, as well as drag and drop. It is a different technology but a similiar concept to the keyboard, using layers of clear plastic instead and various other materials to conduct energy.

I know because I have used them extensively and was a tester for some small businesses in Tucson for awhile, as well as training the employees how to use the new systems which was NOT fun. I played with them and tried to mess them up, though they did have limitations they could handle on average of five touches before not knowing which was which, but that was because the processor wasn't capable of processing more than that, it wasn't the actual screen itself.
