"newbies who aren´t able to build irrlicht theirselves shouldnt be in game-dev anyway" - and thats because game-dev is (usually) not as easy as just recompiling a library where you have a lot of tutorials flying around on how to do it

My answer to that:
Game-dev may be programming.
But Game-dev also is making lots and lots and lots and lots and lots of 2D and 3D Graphics.
And their making is very timeconsuming. So it is usually a good idea to let a graphic artist make them.
And this graphic artist doesn't necessarily know how to compile dll's. (And/or doesn't have the will to spend too much time on finding out about it)
Now, I may be able to compile these things, but if I wasn't, I'd still be wanting to continue developing a game.

So: "shouldnt be in game-dev anyway" really is not a very well thought out thing to say.

@ hsen

If you want you can download it at the link I PM'd you.
I don't want to give the link here on the forum because I'm worried about the bandwidth if too many download it.
Let me know if you have downloaded it, so I can remove it again, and if it worked.

well as an artist you could ask your programmer to do that for you, thats no reason why an artist would have to mess around with irrlichts sources or recompile it.

This is absolutely past the point I was making.

The fact if you should be in game-dev or not does not depend on the fact if you can program or not.
Which is though what you suggested.
If people that, according to this statement of yours, can't program shouldn't be in game-dev then you couldn't play all those nice 3D games that I am sure you enjoy playing.
We'd still be in the age of the Text Adventures.

So, any luck on the MSVC++ project file?
I have modified it so that all extensions work, with the exception of the two I really want: the two mesh changes..... those still give lnk errors.

I turned on all extensions and I got two Linker errors. They were about the IAnimatedMeshX thingy and an unresolved external.

@Xharock: well, I think you're also using MSVC++, don't you?

@Guru: will you mail me your project file, so I can have a look on it, please !?!?!
