That's a nice setup with a very nice video card - the demo uses it well, as you can see.

Usually, in a game you'd hope to cull some of those 400. And also I bet I could LOD them down from the 6000 tris each when there's that many on screen...hmmm, idea for version 2 of the demo. :wink:
Haha, I dunno, I did see that one was being created every time I clicked. They *do* fit. In fact, I tried it with 800 as well, got about 15 fps (seems like pretty nice proportion in those numbers).

Yep, considering culling, LOD, and the lower rasterization time of polies that are further from the camera, you could certainly have a few hundred at a time, and still ensure decent performance on mid-range PCs. In fact, I think more highly of Irrlicht just after seeing that demo. Nice work.

Really nice projects you do. I hope you find some time to develop nice interfaces to access those techniques easily from within the Irrlicht API!
