Ok So does this 3d engine handles this or would I need to make my own script and functions to make this happen???

I know what task I would need to do I knew I had to mess with the mesh weither it's vertexe's or the faces of the terrain model.

I am trying for such an effect like in SIMCITY it's a city simulator where you can raise or lower terrain deafult it would create uneven raised terreain then their is another button you click for a leveled terreain raise.

Also is it possbile for me to program a logic type system for texture??
like for the terrain when raised or lowered I am making 2 different area's like the player could select 2 different regions thing so one's like mostly hot and the other is a damped one, I want to make a script that based on

weather condition's and the area meaning region the script would determind what texture to display on what model.

I am trying to 3d all 3d models differnet skins and texture's including the terrain to change texuture based on weather .

Thanks for your time.

If you want to use different textures you're probably better off having a square plane as a model and then adjusting its textures and vertices to for your needs.

Irrlicht doesn't have a "take this vertex and set it to this" function, but you can get the vertices positions and change them with the mesh buffer, I think.

If you know which vertex you want to work with you should be able to access the terrain's mesh and adjust its height.

Ya that's my plan to have a flat model square plane but plan to make another underneath it which is the water so that when the user dig's the land down all the way then form's water. underneath the water is soil textured model then at the ends of the land where the view breaks off I plan to have 4 plans going horiz with texture of layers of rock ect.

But What I plan on doing is have snow or rain particles or fire that when touch any terrain or building which wil be 3d that the faces then will dispaly the snow or rain or fire texture I made depending where and what particle collided with the terrain meaning that flat land thing ect.

I am going to look around to see what way I might go on this.

wouldn't the phyic's engine do such a thing??? like applie a force onto the terrain model thing which would raise or lower the terrain??
