Woah, when did that happen? Is that linked to IRC or something like that?

On another note, I recommend that we have this as a full week conference with a 2-3 hour schedule for the week. And then possibly we could enlist people to have some presentations/summits, etc.

Well some of my topics don't immediately deal with Irrlicht, but with Irrlicht related middleware. I will be posting some more ideas later, but here are some preliminary ones:

- Lowpass filters with irrKlang
- Beat detection with irrKlang
- How to design a design document
- Creating your own GUI element

yea i was looking at something like this :

using irredit to maximize its potential as a map editor.
using lighting to improve game graphics (even static)
creating GUI graphics that stand out, making cool menus..
User interface/usability design

im sure there is 100 people with input though, we need a leader to decide what goes in and what doesnt or itll just be anarchy and sore feelings lol

Also good topic would be about 3d math.
How to use matrices and quaternions to optimize/make more efficient calculations.

P.S
We must also have Niko present :!:

Great ideas, both of you, but I don't necessarily think we need niko present.

And about deciding which ones to keep in. I believe we should establish the schedule first with slots, then compile all the ideas, and vote on them. (Three-Five person board of members or so.) After that you just check to see which time slot is open for the developer doing the presentation, and then edit the schedule accordingly.

At least, that's how I would do it.

Maybe advertise it so new people could come and ask questions instead of spamming the forum  ?

This sounds like a cool idea, it'll help those less knowledgeable in various things...

yea mastergod thats the aim, and i like the idea of niko "popping in" lol. but not being there its not a requirement. also,

win idea is win. i got a schedule just neatening it up so that it can/will fit cross time zones :)

I said he must be there cause I think that because he's the man that started this all thing he should be at least present in the first Irrlicht Developer Conference.

I'd say it be good to do like any big conference.
Whomever is making the current presentation is in charge of the floor unless things go WAY too wild. Give him op for the time of his presentation or something (v?).

We could maybe even reserve a couple of chat room, so that people who can only attain at a certain hour could still have concurrent events.

Yeah I agree with that. We should have multiple chatroom "floors", and the developer that is holding the conference should have control of the room.

I would like to see Niko there at least on one day, but I don't know if he would be able to. Also I would like to see some Irrlicht developers participating in one or more conferences.

hmm depending on the time frame, we can do this is a setup kinda way. where every one "speaking" must download camtasia or another recording software and demonstrate/speak whateverinto the video. then we have guys translating the different languages, and then the conference begins, where we have notes/translations for the major group of languages, the video, and while the video is up for that day, that developer can be in the chat room as much as possible. so that it makes it fair on the speaker and the crowd?

halifax email me, i had some ideas for this before now.. fuzzyspoon at gmail.com

I'm not sure I got you right, you want a video+IRC conference?

I'd rather avoid the pre-recorded. Might as well post on youtube.
