I'm seeing a slight pattern here, coding and gaming enthusiasts (at least on these forums) seem to choose athlons...havent seen as many intel procs listed here...

AMD has been touted as a better chip for gaming and for overclocking. That, and they used to be significantly cheaper than Intel chips.

Personally, I like the idea of competition in the marketplace, and decided early on to support AMD. I don't regret it one bit. :D

screen+alphachanel^^ are they really getting transparent? :shock:

I'm ashamed to say I'm replying late on in this thread because didn't know what my graphics cards were until i found the boxes the other day :oops:

soo... without further delay-

CPU: Athlon XP 2800 (i think, bloody fast anyway)
GeForce FX5900XT Golden Limited 128mb
RAM: 768MB DDR (400)

CPU: Athlon 1.4Ghz
GeForce 5200 Ultra 128mb (packaged as creative 3d blaster)
RAM: 512MB DDR (200?)

both running win2k

I've been using AMD since I had a K6-2 350 which was a considerable amount cheaper than a competing Intel at the time
