yes! very much like syndicate. syndicate is a greater compliment than gta2 imho, I played syndicate for months but didn't really get in to gta2.
If you've never played it, it's worth downloading it from the underdogs. The game had good but very simple path finding (follows the outside of buildings) and the ability to split your 4 androids in to groups. good ai- people don't run away and the police attack until you draw your weapons or start causing trouble, and police also attack rival syndicates. Then there's the explosion blasts, smashing windows and setting people on fire, running people over, shooting at cars until the driver abandons them, shooting androids backwards until they fall off the side of a building, and of course looting bodies. Then there's the whole technology side, which is also awe inspiring. Man that game was so good... I NEED TO PLAY IT NOW!

Small progress update:
I've fixed pedestrian code so they no longer walk on roads and now they properly use zebra crossings. Also I've added support for lightmapping in the editor. Now all I need is some lights!

great move! Lightmaps definitely add life and realism to a game...
