strong99 wrote:About the DVD/Blueray, you plan in the future you say but in the future we maybe stop using the discs, I think cause its an internet project you can take advancement from it, look at a sort of p2p system to transmit the data instead setting it on a disc. Not everywere in the world they use DVDs now or broadband,
I already explained P2P is not very practical...

Great news ! :)

Now we are working on our first online city model.

Also we opened a new community site a Ning.
There you get more informations about iZigoo and the latest screenshots.

If you are interested in updates on izigoo just register in our ning - izigoo group.

Sorry but Ive gotta agree with Midnights thoughts on this.

It doesn't seem like it's planned very well thus I on't think its gonna be peasible.

Good luck though. I do hope it all turns out well. Nice screnshot btw.

iZigoo will be based on C++ and Python. We think scripting is essential for a big project. Now we are working on a virtual city and test our components. Later we will host this city model for download, so who likes can create his own area of the city.
In general it is really amazing to see how fast everything is evolving.

We are very open for all kind of ideas and help. Just check out our ning site at http://izigoo3d.ning.com or send us an email to izigoo -at- gmx.net.

hey,

it is great to see that iZigoo is growing fast.
The new screenshots look cool. Are you planning to make a beta
release for testing ?
I think irrlicht is a good engine for iZigoo and the irrlicht community
is realy helpful.

I hope to see new screenshots soon ...

Hello,

at the moment we are looking for a nice source for playing
videos in irrlicht ...
If possible should be cross plattform and licensed under the
zlib license.
Please leave a message here or send a pm ...

Thanks

Just a short update here about our iZigoo project. We were very busy the last time so no updates here.

The last weeks we are showing some more 3D artists how to work with irrlicht and iZigoo. It is great to see the progress with the artists and also the the new models. Modeling for realtime engines is sometimes hard for normal 3D modelers used to millions of polygons.
On the development site we are waiting for the stable 1.4 release of
irrlicht. We hope it is coming soon and it is great to see the new features.
Also we are enhance our concept and we are checking the possibilty how to connect iZigoo to other world servers like SL. It depends how open and free their server software will be.

For more infos just check here or our website.

It's really heartening to see that this is still going according to plan.

If you get stalled waiting for Irrlicht to catch up with yesterday, then IrrSpintz or Lightfeather are of Irrlicht lineage, but (IMHO, at this moment in time) further advanced.

Hello,

we are also looking at other engines many times to see what new features they have. Lightfeather is a great engine with many advanced features.
For us it is most important to have a stable and well documentated engine. Irrlicht is very well in this points.
Also many projects already use irrlicht.
At the moment most of our prototypes use Irrlicht 1.3 . So we are excited to see what new features go into 1.4 ...

I think it is great that you use Irrlicht for this project. Most 3D worlds are closed source or very commercial.
I hope to see a demo soon. :)
