There will be an Open Source Multimedia Trainingcamp held in Bulgaria. They offer some scholarships, if you can get one then you don't have to pay. As it will take place in Bulgaria i thought i tell ETCaptor about it as it might possibly be of interest for you:

Maybe will try to use another hosting. It's true this free Portland server often is down.

Thanks for the multimedia educational link. It's nice when here coming EU lectors. I hope that will be able to going there.
I bought two books related with 3d Max mastering and even thought that artist work is pleasant the programming in case that you have just small artist talent. :D

Hi Captor,

be careful with buying max books. Mine here have collected dust until i gave them away. They aren't really useful. I think it's impossible for a single person to be proficient in all that areas which are covered by such a book. One of the reasons i switched from max to blender. You get access to much more info than with max, online forums, video tutorials, etc. And you can freely exchange your ideas, works and problems with others. C'mon give blender a go. Check out the tutorials on the interface first to avoid getting frustrated. Once you understood, i guarantee, it's fantastic to work with.

I have not an idea about how blender works. Start downloading
One my friend tell me that have a full DVD collections with Max video tutorials. Soon will take a look there.
I was spend over 50 euro for these books and never sorry for that, because are written with very good style. If got a time for video tutorials after that thing that will make some steps froward.
Yet Max is not free and is not easy to buy software like Max. qMax is like Max4, but without renderer and another export features.

Get the beta fast, otherwise they ask for money. It really works :)

Nice tool. I like it.
I tried another hosting for VE site:

Since I registered their server is stable and maybe will use this hosting from now.
I also finished with one from my projects on the job and when finish with another additional project will start my work with Irrlicht tools again.
It's sad when can't find more spare time for favorites things like this.
I even tried to avoid my visits on this wonderful community, because must observe only - like 3-th person : :roll:

After over 1,5 year seems I will back. Sorry, bored real live tasks.
I found that Irrlicht is hard developed and Niko made some nice features to expand user nodes support.
So, I tried my tool with last Irrlicht release and found that must make some design changes and additions.
At first this is .irr compatibility. After several days I got this:

At second I started implementing of multiple Undo/Redo system, for designers :wink: . At now it workings for me, despite its early stage of development and when finish with it will upload 0.5 version with these additions.

At last I go to modify OpenAL system for Irr 1.31 serialization, for these that likes OpenAL. Don't know but when improve it maybe will make it open source :D

Also I wonder whether to release Irrlicht Object inspector like separate dll or lib to give possibility for Irrlicht user for changes properties in their own tools :D like game editors and others independently from VisualEditor if users wants similar stuff.

This is a great editor, and I'm sure it will eventually expand to have the features of a commerical package. Although still remaining free.

Well, I got several spare days and finished with some tasks:
+ new property inspector
+ multiple undo/redo system
+ OpenAL serialization. Now OpenAL nodes are supported by .irr format
+ SceneTreeView now support drag&drop, so it's easy to change parent node
also node selection and navigation was improved from TreeView.

These tasks are in my list:
- Physics serialization - 70% done
- Joints serialization?? - still have not an idea about this.

Also must made some design changes before upload 0.5 version.

I made hard work today, but my spare time is gone.
Well, there is what done yet:
- popup menu for easy navigation. Nodes are placed like gun shoot on the scene.
- collision wizard with several clicks.

There are some new ideas, but at this stage just must made some bugfixes and release 0.5 version.
Still not tried new features of Irr 1.4, tha new version of VE will be compiled with last Irrlicht release.

I really appreciate your work and I would like to use this program, but I have no chance on downloading it... the site in your signature is in Russian. Unfortunately, I don't speak Russian -.-.
So my simple Question: How can I download it? (never seen me asking this question in a forum ;P)

Click "English" Button colored in red on the top of page.
There is still 0.4 version, but soon will be ready new 0.5 version with many new features.
