Re: tapeworm
What do you people think about e-book readers? I saw recently this one in a bookstore:
http://www.trekstor.de/en/products/deta ... =36&cat=14
It's really cheap, about 53 EUR, I am considering buying it.
Do you have any experiences with such hardware, or can recommend something other/better ?

Re: tapeworm
depends how much you like reading
i prefer iPad though, a lot more flexibility and options because you can play games and surf internet besides reading
The PoP sourcecode find was interesting, 6502 assembly was so awesome back in the day
I still have my C64 actually...

Re: tapeworm
I love reading! Never too much knowledge
I will use the reader probably mainly in the bed, where I usually read books. I am just looking for something more comfortable than paper book.
Also, PDFs are way cheaper ( ) than paper books, so it's a nice investment.
Today I found this tablet, only 16 EUR more expensive, but with Android 2.1 and WiFi:
http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/a ... t-DRM.html
It's 600 MHz CPU with 256MB of RAM.
I was also thinking about this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4G-7-MID-Google ... 0632163737
WiFi and Android will allow me to read stuff on the Internet, like articles etc, but I am not sure about quality of a such cheap Chinese tablet.
@fmx, have you heard that there are SD cards adapters for C64 ? It's just a cartridge with an memory card slot.
Now look at this: http://doperoms.com/roms/Commodore_64.html
I must get one day one of these adapters and lock in my room for a few weeks, lol

Re: tapeworm
That's a LCD, wouldn't buy. It's just like reading on a computer screen, not easy on the eyes (e-ink, OTOH, is much better).
Re: tapeworm
I saw these e-ink displays, but it's not a good solution for me. I need ability to view color images, e-ink only display image in grayscale (and only about 7-8 levels).
Spending 20-30 hours in front of LCD displays is not making my eyes tired, so this is not a problem

so you'll probably have to find another vendor who'd sell you just one of the tablets(or make an investment - a cheap android tablet, not necessarily a bad thing to do)
the other one though, looks quite good. I've been waiting for the prices on android 2.3 tablets to drop and maybe the time has come for me to get one. But i'd like 512 mb ram more
Edit: i think i found it on the british amazon. The delivery fee should be around 8 pounds to Poland & co.

Step back! I have a void pointer, and I'm not afraid to use it!

Thanks ent1ty for the link, but I did some research and found these tablets:

All are Android 4.0, CPU starts from 1GHz and RAM from 512MB. I am thinking to choose one, for $100 max.
EDIT:
After some research I have to choose one of these two:

Awesome! Tesla is one of my favorite scientists.Mel wrote:Nikolai Tesla, a geek in the begining of the past century

I "met him" for a first time when I was reading about transformers and found this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tesla_coil (btw, it's really easy to build).
He was a great engineer, it's great to see that someone have made such a great compilation of information about him.
Btw, recently I started playing a new game, Sniper Elite v2.
Look at their interesting invention, "killcam": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyfwLQHeoiU
Watch the whole movie to see how it looks in different situations.

And one more thing:
Recently I was thinking about coding a new personal website.
I was messing a bit with CSS3 and jQuery and this is what I get:
http://testing.kazymjir-design.com/home/
http://testing.kazymjir-design.com/home2/ (works only in Firefox for now, due to used mozilla extension for Matrix transformations)
What do you think?

Long time no see
I didn't find it funny, the guy was just being an a**hole trying to trick people with stupid email requests.
reminds me of the movie "The Prestige", Tesla plays a really big part in it

BTW
i was googling randomly for different mapping algos yesterday and I found this little webGL demo

cool to see how web tech has evoloved so much recently

lol at trying to list Thomas Edison under "douchbag" wiki entry, but I totally agree Tesla deserved more than EdisonMel wrote:Nikolai Tesla, a geek in the begining of the past century

Re: tapeworm
The forum's been unusually quiet the past few days
Maybe this isn't the best place to ask, but approximately how much longer before the next version of irrlicht (1.8 ) is due for release?
I know SVN has the new stuff already, but I want to make my next irrlicht techdemo based off a stable release
I can't recall the last time I was so desperate for a new release, cant wait for FVFs in irrlicht
