A little humor!

As for work using free images servers, better upload on your own server  ... in a competition in 2010 in this community, someone change the picture of a project on the other something nasty

(image removed by admin, sorry for that)

Thanks for telling - and yeah somewhat funny. We still can't have those images in the forum here, so I'm doing a little message editing...

Censorship is really evil, so may i ask what kind of images are not appropriate in the forums? Boobies? Weapons? Religion?

Pornography in this case. I fight for free speech - but I also fight for the rights of forum-admins to decide which kind of speech they allow in their forum. This is not an open forum for everyone, but a technical support forum for a 3d engine - there is no point in allowing pornography, racism, spam or similar stuff in here. Free speech means you should be allowed to have your forum for - well - whatever you want without political repression. It doesn't mean you should for example be allowed to stand in the garden of your neighbors and shout out obscenities. Neither does it mean you should be allowed to post in every forum in the world whatever you want.

But in this case it was an accident anyway - the URL was probably simply outdated and then re-used for a new image, which then accidentally had the content which is sung about here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nGRPFUYUUdQ

edit: Aside from that - given that most admins live in germany we couldn't even legally allow pornographic pictures. Otherwise we would have to force people registering to make an adult check using the passport id (yeah - we have crazy laws here...).

I understand your point of view.

But who decides what, for example, pornography is? Is this porn? No it's not, but there are some forums out there where you aren't allowed to post this kind of images.

It's sad.

Bascially whoever runs the forum should decide. It's somewhat hard to tell in this case - who would be sued if we allowed for example stuff forbidden by law? Sourceforge in this case probably, or maybe Niko, or might be all forum-admins. I really don't know. My guess would be Sourceforge. Real free speech means no-one of us could ever be sued (that would be nice), but still doesn't mean we should allow everything imho.

I'm sorry I exposed the image shown in competition at the 2010 without alerting an administrator first.
But it was funny... :P

CuteAlien is right.

There is a difference between pornography, erotica and nudity :)
Nudity is just exposing parts of human body like woman breasts, etc. Erotica is nudity with sexual elements, like posing with intention to achieve sexual excitement on people who watch it. Pornography starts when all previous are present plus people are doing sexual acts, like sex, masturbation.

So, deciding what pornography is, is easy. Some people just may not like watching nudity/erotica/pornography in places where it should be not posted.
In case of this forum, I think such images are not allowed because many underage people visits the forum. I don't think that you would be happy that your children watches porn instead of programming :)

Yes, there is.

No it's not. As i wrote, the google images link i posted before would have been banned in other forums due to pornography.
It's not that easy.

The explanation of what porn/erotica/nudity is you posted, is your own/mine, not the one of other people around the world.
Same goes for political/religious cartoons.

Hm, according to that definition it was probably nudity. No sex going on. Whatever ^_^

@randomMesh: I don't know if your breast-feeding images would be banned. Basically it's moderator anarchy here - stuff stays unless one of the moderators deletes it. If you try around with different images I'm certain you could find some image where we no longer agree if it should be removed or not. But please don't do that, this forum is about Irrlicht and we really don't like wasting our time with moderating such cases - we only do that because someone has to once in a while.

If some other forum will ban your image, this will be like overriding isPornography() method by administrators of that forum with their own definition.
