its nice to see there is still so much emotions in mmorpg (making) :)

Try to keep the tone above patronizing. Even if you do think people are way out.

Actually, i havent seen any complete irrlicht project i think. MMORPG or other (more then simple tests). Well i guess future will tell.

Tell you what: I'll stop patronising "MMOMFG!!!" posters when they start making the claim that their pet project is revolutionary from a position of knowledge rather than ignorance. Can't say fairer than that.

By now, half of your team should be planning a furry/vampire card game, and the other half are working on a 7-dimensional Tetris clone that just needs someone to invent a controller that can move on an axis that you can't point along. Fair assessment?

Uh, maybe Solaris isn't the greatest name to use?

There's a movie ( http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0307479/ ), an operating system ( http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/ ), and I even saw an infomercial for an exercise machine called Solaris. Before reading this thread I thought you had some Irrlicht stuff going on in Solaris.

I thought the same thing at first. But then, if He wants to, legally He can do it. The word Solaris as applied to an OS cannot be used, but applied to a game, can. Like to do with computers, you can't use the name "Apple", but if you cars, (sounds stupid) you can call them "Apple Cars" if you want to and Apple computers can't sue you for that. Though "Solaris" isn't the most original name anyway, it can be done.

long time no see, well, i'm kinda busy with the second university and my current job, but that wont stop me to achieve my goal, the problem is i lost contact with the team, so now i'm searching for another, it is hard because here no one works free.
and don't worry about the name, solaris is just the project's name, not the game's name.

cheers.

yea, i do, and i dont care :)

i know what a mmorpg project is, man, i worked as a programmer and gui designer on an emulator for WoW, but as i say, i'm working for a living and i have 2 more years of university (2nd), i'm not like you to spend all my time in front of a computer and spend my time on forums.

you live in scotland right?
i live in Romania, and that's taking all my time!

when i'll have a little time i'll post some screenshots ... it's not much but it is the work of just 2 men for now.
