Just gotta love those "guest" accounts...
Official forum of the Irrlicht Engine
https://irrlicht.sourceforge.io/forum/
So by turning off the quest account you won't really get rid of the problem then, as people who are registered do it too.vermeer wrote:...probably,

Ok, just an idea, not a good one but here goes why don't you just leave one forum topic open to guests. Then you can restrict all the rest of the forum topics to only those who have registered?I know of many very functional mods and 3d comunities where you can't even read the contents...
No, it's not Midnight, calm down please.
Midnight, is that you?![]()
Another fool who knows nothing about nothing useful and just spouts crap with no real points.
Nope. Just like to protect them from *uninformed* opinions from anonymous posters...protect your minds from external opinions.
Maybe is a good idea. Though in a forum I know really well, they had to end up killing that one too, after some serious probs...But ok, maybe is not bad idea. I dunno.quote: Originally posted by vermeer:

Yup, but u can very easily ban a registered user. What is more, a banned user can come back as a guest and continue being so..."useful"
The fact is I am not asking disabling guest by a single isolated casual thread like this....but for many since looong time, and in many forums and comunities, something which I have been checking that happens allways since '96 when I started seing how ppl deal thing on inet...
To often -not you- ppl know that a guest can't be banned, and can also be hidden in the anonimity; not only due to the impossible(or almost) ban, but also as it becomes a unknown person, while is much better to start knowing the line of thought of each to improve the comunication and reduce misunderstandings; when you know motivations behind certain kind of posts, because u know a bit more the way the peson use to talk, you avoid more fights... That besides many advantages for the comunity. I am not against a controled guest only section... (I doubt I would open that one, heh )

Maybe you have started visiting us recently...in many past moments, we've had times that almost the majority of posts was comercial spam, or jokes. But too massive to be funny.
2 messages could never be a problem, but yep 2,222

That indeed is a bit (no need for it, really)defensive way of talking, but the real fact is Irrlicht comunity is one of the most open minded I've been at, and been in way a lot , 3d or game making related....I'm sorry if i was a bit harsh,in fact you people are some sort of community and love to protect your minds from external opinions.
As you say *Guest*Anonymous wrote:Nope. Just like to protect them from *uninformed* opinions from anonymous posters...protect your minds from external opinions.
Before getting Visual Studio I started to learn opengl with Nehe tutorials coding with MASM.Guys , do you understand that both projects Ogre3D and Irrlicht are just bloated crap compared to the lower level APIs they are built around ?
While I can agree to some extent (being a direct - DirectX programmer myself) - irrlicht has helped in my small team for indie dev because it is more robust and continually developer (and tested by all it's good users).Priest wrote:Guys , do you understand that both projects Ogre3D and Irrlicht are just bloated crap compared to the lower level APIs they are built around ?
