mel, your screenies are awfully impressive and inspiring.

They look well. But these games had a lot of 2D animation behind. In fact, when the "puyos" got together, their shapes somehow blended. It is a sort of puzzle, it isn't really complex, you need all the posible shapes and put them together. Joining them with beams is too simple. But it is nice. Maybe if the beams were a bit thicker, they would be more noticeable.
Yep that was what I was worried about. I don't have the art skills to do the kind of animation that the puyo puyo games have, so I took this route instead. I'm also not trying to replicate the art style (if that's what you're saying), as I'm trying to do my own style. I'll experiment with making the beams thicker though.

Thanks for the feedback Eigen, I'll be sure to fix the colors

Not much, but I finally got something to show at all here.
Its the beginning of the menu of a game I am working on, I'm making the menu using images and simple 2d math.

I have a part of the game too, but I am still a bit nooby at the whole OOP thing so Im making little progress. (I make things simple first, then put them into OOP then clean up, then add them to the game.)

My main menu is a 3D scene :) The camera is moving in circles around a fixed point.

I really like the scene

I really like the concept, but isn't it a little bit empty?

Many games use this technique including freelancer, my favourite game ever but yeah the scene does look a little empty, you should add something in the center of the scene that attracts attention eighter a 2d image or a 3d model.

Maybe you can beg Mel for one of his female models, that will do wonders

LOL Well, i don't know if my female models would fit in a place like that ^^U
(And i have male models too, though i recognize i haven't shown them up...)

My editor already saves scenes! 8)

I have restored some old content i had for the first time i started using Irrlicht... it has been a long time since then... I guess i should post this in my project thread, because this is clearly an advance ^^U

It`s a futuristic train station- see the two-direction track rails.

Unfortunatley the trains aren`t there and you have nowhere to take a seat while waiting. Probably the main-heroine-chick makes the trains buzy somewhere.
The style is nice, but the scene needs more details IMO. Irrlicht is much more capable of that, I`m sure.

It is a train station, but the seats and the train aren't there.
