The whole point of his project is to read and render the original GTA3 data. It's really impressive.

Reminds me of one of the DirectX SDK samples where you can load in a wav file, and it'll create a similar effect (although not with fire)

Very cool screenshot, but what's up with your filtering settings? Your textures get blurred after a really short distance, which kind of wrecks the beauty of the scene for me

I don't know... I guess it is the switch from a video card to another, because i had the oposite problem before, The first texture chanel NEVER got mipmapped. Drivers issues, most probably.

Nothing that cannot be solved by enabling the trilinear filtering, though :)

@bear. It is their correct name, i can't help it if it has so much acronyms. And yes, i am making a game, though i have to tune up still some stuff.

@mel,

You can adjust mipmapping settings in most grafic card's control panels. Maybe try that.
