Sorry, I just found it funny, and its a pretty random thread so I thought it belonged here. Not like I stuck it in my grass generator project thread.

He hasn't been taken seriously for a long time.

Because he mostly acts childish, believes himself to be extremely awesome (which we tend to disagree with), etc.

I get the impression that he believes he's the best programmer on this board because he can speak in big mathematical/programming terms terms and because he can implement some semi-next-gen features

Also: Project Ninja Star. Do a search to see if it still exists, that's devsh in a nutshell . He's been close to redeeming himself a few times. If you're reading this devsh, getting rid of your holier-than-thou attitude and being a bit more mature will go a long way. You've made more contributions than a lot of people on this forum, but in a more condescending way than anyone else.

I'm not holier-than-thou, linux is

Anyway, you either get the whole package or nothing at all :) Most the stuff I implement is free and opensource for you to use, no matter how much of an arrogant dick I may be, I show a sign of good will to share this stuff free and royalty free. Some of the shaders and frameworks I did are quite good. I was the second person to do deferred rendering here, first being Nadro. Maybe one day I'll become less excited and less proud of my work, but that will be when I stop having this wow factor of "three years ago I thought reflections are done automagically"

From my experience school doesn't teach you crap. My college hasn't even caught up to where my high school was with programming. And my high school only had 2 programming classes, vb and java. I doubt devsh learned anything about shaders from school.

Indeed I havent, they didnt teach me anything about computers at all. IT in great britain is all about using M$ office packages, all the way through high school. I'm like WTF? thats like studying a moped user manual and saying you are teaching car maintenance (let alone mechanics or design).

The bastards didnt even teach me maths (integration, differentiation, solid angles, spherical harmonics; the last two I dont get, but know how to use)

Although it doen't look that great I though I'd share another image of my IrrOde wrapper and the AdvancedParticleSystem code snippet. The image shows an airplane after a target has been hit by a missile.
