Skeletal Animation During Runtime?

Post by Guest »

Is there a way to animate a model via it's skeleton during gameplay?

Ragdoll?

Post by Tyn »

That's ragdoll physics ain't it? There is a pretty cool online java script with literally a skeleton, you can press all over it and it animates like you just punched it, that's got to be what you mean I think. I have not seen any open source ragdoll physics engines around ( hidden agenda behind this post :D ) but I'd be interested if anyone else has.

'Guest' is a friend of mine. I showed him the ragdoll physics skeleton thing a while ago. I think he means being able to just change the bone angles at will, so you can for example, make your character automatically point a gun at a nearby target, which you wouldn't be able to do via standard animations.
