Describe your problem a little bit better to get some answers. Most of the people here don't owe a soothsaying crystalball
Personally i think Milkshape is a very nice tool for beginners but to avoid trouble get Blender instead. It simply has much more power and a huge supporting community.
I used Max, then Milkshape until i said okay now i make my way through the Blender tuts.
Blender and its community is the best i found so far it enabled me to get a first grasp how 3D really works. Everything there is open, abilility to understand the only limit. What else can you ask for?
