Im probably getting annoying but...

Post by lostclimategames »

well im having a problem, i dont want to render with software, i dont have the drivers for opengl, and am having a hard time finding them (plus i honestly dont want to use opengl), and i am using dev-c++ so my version of the dll does not include dx(which i do want to use) so does anyone have an dx9 enabled version of the dll, and yes ive seached for how to compile my own, and they all say i should download the dx dev-pack which isnt showing up on the webupdate when i search, and for some reason only allows me to search devpaks.org, (wont connect to planetmirror.com) so yeah. :/

opengl drivers come with your video card drivers. GLUT does not, GLUT is not OpenGL. It's a GL Utility something or other, kinda like the DXUtil classes that come with the DX SDK.

well most videocards are more oriented towards directx i think, im not completely sure but thats waht they seem to push, plus even when i try to compile with opengl it says my drivers arent up to date, idk why, because i just bought my video card in the spring unless they've had an update since, but i dont see anywere on the nvidia site to get them anyways. i wish i had money to get visual c++ seeing as how everything seems so much harder to us dev-c++ users.

There's a directx dev-pak on the second update site. Just read more thoroughly.

I have a dll of Irrlicht 1.1 that I downloaded somewhere (I think in an italian forum about irrlicht) and that works with DX9 and DevCPP. It is also supposed to work with DX8, but for mi it only works in DX9.

If you give me a mail or something, I'll send it to you.

You gotta lok around the site a bit and be willing to read up.

Number 4 deals with licensing.

I've never had a problem rendering with directx using DevCpp?

On the Updates/Packages, try the download "Irrlicht + DirectX" option.
