Deled Xmas compo 2006 winner!

Post by afecelis »

Hi guys,
just wanted to let you know that I'm very excited and happy to announce that my level built in deled won the 2006 xmas competition. I also made some realtime walkthrus of it in Irrlicht using the b3d exporter, so if allowed by the deled team I'll post the app here as well
Here's the info:

thanks for all the positive feedback and comments guys! :D
@Luke: wouldn't have been possible to run this b3d in Irrlicht without your loader
@Bitplane: whoa! thanks for the music. Comes in pretty handy now that I'm adapting the app to upload it here  thnx thnx thnx!
Edit: just listened to it and it's pretty cute! Fits the cartoony look perfect! Someone mentioned it looked like a southpark 64 level, so this music should help the mood :D

Ok, here it is! :D :D
Some minor issues:
I wanted to add snow so I looked for saigumi's last night and found it; used it and worked ok but it's too darn small, hehehehehhe, so if you go around the middle of the map and look up you'll probably see the snowflakes falling. I'll try to make the snow happen in all the map (suggestions are welcome).
The splashscreen loads pixelated, dunno why. I tried both DX and GL and the same thing happens.

OK, as always the usual stuff in my apps; WASD or keys to move around, ESC or "q" to quit.

I'm including the Deled dmf file in case you want to give it a look  have fun!

thanks!
Luke and Gaz, did you compare it with the bmp image in /data/splash ?
Is it loading 1:1 as that image? If so, I dunno why, but I get a pixelated image.

happy new year! :D

hmm yes you're right... the non-power of 2 texture looks pixelated compared to the one in media. changing to to 1024x1024 fixes it.
