scenes mixing indoors with outdoors

Post by InetRoadkill »

I've read thru a number of the tutorials, but I wasn't able to find an answer to this: I would like to create a scene that is a mix of the typical indoor level geometry (say from Q3 or halflife) and make it so that you can leave the interior portion and go outside, perhaps to another building containing its own indoor level too. From my understanding, IRRLICHT is supposed to be able to do this, but it's not clear how.

I'm not clear about how irrlicht manages the world geometry. Is irrlicht converting bsp's to octtrees? How do you make a scene with both indoor and outdoor parts?

i guess you could create both the scenes with irrEdit, then load them both in as different scene managers, then draw them independantly from each other from wherever your character is.
