where to get MView

Post by wolfpack »

Hi all,

I've been tring to find MView to do the import/export trick that people have mentioned on the forum in order to get .X animations from 3DS to Irrlicht. All I could find from Microsoft was fairly recent DirectX 9 SDKs, which the .X files I had only crashed. Does anybody know where to find a copy of MView from DirectX 8.1 or some other version that will properly reformat .X animations to work with Irrlicht?

Thanks!

you dont need MView

if you name/rename your bones correctly mview is not needed.

all you have to do to eliminate using mview is follow directx naming conventions in your mesh parts / bone / biped

just make sure your names are as:

right_toe , left_foot ...... and not left toe, right foot

panda exporter renames them with the underscore if not and you end up with unrefrenced parts. just use underscores in your names and you are set.

i use max 9 and this works perfectly for exporting to x with out using mview.
