Stable Versions of Irrlicht

Post by iZigoo »

Hello,

it would be great to have bugfixed versions of irrlicht for pro use.
Like a 1.3.1 Version included all the known bugfixes of 1.3, instead
of a version of 1.4 with a lot new features but also new bugs.

Maybe it is better to wait a little bit and then release 1.4 .
It will slow down maybe the development a little bit but decreases
the problems for artists and developers.

Is something like this already planned ? Or is it possible to get them
already ?

Maintaining such versions becomes much easiear if the svn repository is reorganized like it's suggested in some other threads.

So, if there's plan to reorganize repository, then there's also plan to support multiple versions. ;)

Great!

Could you/someone provide some sneak peak so possible caveeats can be pointed out before someone does something bad, mmkay? ;)

Anyway, if something goes wrong, just revert.

Hello niko,

this is very good. Irrlicht is a great engine and if it has bugfix versions
maybe it is the best free enigine !
Also the license is great for big projects.
We also release our project under the same license to keep the internet free.

Thanx

lol just fix the bugs that give you problems.

I want the new features old bugs are no major problem.

new features/bug fixes... this is the point of newer versions.

whos going to spend the time fixing bugs in older versions?.. not me.

irrlicht is still too much a of a child I wouldn't bother until after 2.0 cause it doesn't even have all the basic junk working well yet.

I'd rather have new features, bugs always have time to be worked out, but you might need a new feature really soon.
