Yeah, and tweaking a bit its handling , plus having some good Photoshop/Gimp/Paint.net skill, it totally rocks...

The guy who made it did for his own game making needs...

trying to find a good galaxy skies generator, also 2d one, which imo is quite useful too....no matter you're into 2d or 3d, there's allways 2d needs(sprites, skyboxes/vr.. ) in 3d...

lol you want to have little floating galaxies instead of asteroids?

why not just make one?

step one... cloud type particals in random but brilliant colors

step two... planet billboards maybe even proceedural texturing for spheres with an atmosphere layer so it looks good.

step three star generator with either random suns with distance varience or stars at a distance and a random or controlled number of suns

thinks thats all you would need... maybe asteroid fields but those are usually forground billboards or models in games.

I'll make a bunch of these type of tools eventually unfortunatly I need good editors first. magical specific generators come later.

but you know if you find one lets us know. :wink:

Done that and way more advanced methods a milliom times.. for earning a salary,or like more recently , indie projects...

even seamless and realistic...

No...
the intention of finding one is be able to bang a lot really different galaxy bacgrounds...

In this case was thinking in ppl needing that for a project with no artists on board...

but yep, doing that is easier than even doing a regular realistic wall texture...

But time consuming , if doing well.

there were several valid, I just lost the links...

Yesterday I was having fun coding 2d explosions sequences using povray (free), i made a little povray ray file where you can script your sequence to make a series of frames (good for animated sprites). I like povray overe the other programs since the effect is fully programmable.

Anyway here is a sample, i used really low sampling density and no AA since my cpu has cooling problems and i cant leave it rendering for long (>2 minutes)

Hehe thanks belfegor and blindside, im busy till the 20th so ill write it on that day, btw nice shadow map demo, if you want to make it a litte bit faster you can cheat by only rendering every other frame (% operator is good here).

Hmmm, hi, can someone explain me something dumb?

This 2D explosion generator was what I just needed for my 2d game, but my doubt here is the following, the background it gives me is black, how can I make it transparent on my game? Sorry for the stupid question, it's because kinda of all I have used is draw2DImage, thanks!

By the way, is it possible to make the explosion bigger?

You choose the ADD_COLOR material and use a billboard.
